My Central Jersey - New Brunswick is getting a new mural thanks to a $25K grant
NEW BRUNSWICK – The city is getting a little more colorful thanks to a new grant.
New Brunswick is one of 26 U.S. cities awarded a $25,000 Asphalt Art Initiative grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies. The grant, which is led by city director of international programs Michael Tublin, is designed to use art to improve street safety, revitalize public spaces and engage residents.
City artist Luis-Miguel Caraballo (also known as Louie Blaka), who painted the Black Lives Matter mural last year at the intersection of George Street, Liberty Street and Livingston Avenue, will paint the new mural. Read the full article here.
